When sending a document to Wordy, you receive an instant price quote. The quote includes checking and correcting the grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency and textual structure. All quotes are non-binding.
Editors work from a standardised set of guidelines which describe in detail the process by which all documents are edited. You can download a PDF file of the “Wordy Guide for Editors” by clicking here.
2. Payment
When you place an order on Wordy, the payment is transferred to a dedicated account for holding. Payment does not accrue interest while in holding. Upon an editor's acceptance and subsequent delivery of the job, the amount is credited to the editor. All payments are made in the European Union currency the euro (EUR) and are exclusive of customs duties and other taxes apart from Danish VAT.
3. Editing
Editing of your text includes checking the grammar (correction of all grammatical errors), spelling (correction of all spelling errors), punctuation (correction of all punctuation errors), consistency (imposing a consistent style) and textual structure (ensuring that the structure is well organised). Editing does not include development (any writing apart from ensuring consistent structure), rewriting, ghost-writing or critique or evaluation of the text.
4. Delivery and deadlines
All dates and times provided for the delivery of the document or text are approximate, and based on prior orders of the same size. Wordy cannot be held liable for any loss or damage caused by a later delivery time than the approximate one.
5. The editor’s right to refuse the job
Upon acceptance of the text, the editor has the right to refuse the job if it doesn’t meet the standard that makes it possible for the editor to complete the job. This also includes when the editor discovers that he or she cannot carry out the job to an acceptable standard for whatever reason. If the editor refuses the job, you will be notified via email, and your payment reimbursed.
6. The client’s right to refuse the job
When editing has been completed on a document, you have 2 days from the next business day to evaluate, accept or claim a re-edit. If you fail to do so, you are deemed to have accepted the work.
If you do not accept the work, you can claim a re-edit, stating your explicit reasons for doing so. When claiming a re-edit, you must have made no significant changes to the document, and addressed all notes and comments from the editor. If you fail to provide a reason for your refusal of edited text, you are deemed to have accepted the work.
If you send the text for re-editing, the editor will do the re-edit at no extra cost to you.
If you do not accept the re-edited work, and your claim is legitimate and supported by substantive proof, your payment will be reimbursed, and the editor will not receive any payment.
7. Confidentiality
Wordy acknowledges that editors may be privy to confidential information in the form of sensitive or unpublished material. To ensure client confidentiality, all Wordy editors shall accept to work under a non-disclosure agreement by using the service.
