How long does the editor registration process take?
There are two steps in the process: account settings and editing test. The entire registration takes about 15-20 minutes, so please make sure you have set aside the appropriate time.
Am I registering for a full time position?
No, Wordy is primarily for freelance editors looking to expand their source of income. However, our aim is to provide editors with enough work to fill an 8 hour day.
Is my registration binding?
No, your registration is not binding in any way.
How do you check my background and credentials?
We check by corresponding with all of your contacts. So please make sure names and email addresses are spelt correctly.
What if I cannot provide confirmation details?
Confirmation details are required for all credentials. However, confirmation can be provided either (1) as the name and email address of someone who can confirm the credential or (2) as your own name and email if you want to provide Wordy with a scan of a document (e.g. the certificate for a qualification).
What if I do not have a company name?
You are not required to have a company to register as an editor with Wordy.
Why should I check which formats I am able to copy-edit?
All editing through Wordy is done on screen in the format and program of the original text. For PDFs this means that you should have Adobe Acrobat Professional installed on your computer. HTML text is edited in Wordy’s own on-screen editor.
When will I hear from Wordy after my registration?
You will hear from us the minute we have checked your credentials and reviewed your test results. This process takes about 7 to 14 days.
